Program Goals: The primary goal of the FHS Latin Honors Internship program is to provide career exploration opportunities to FHS students prior to graduation. Student Requirements: Students must do the following: Students will log their respective hours on the internship and must have their supervisor sign off on the hours time sheets. Time sheets are available on the link below or outside of Dr. Reeves' office; Business/Industry partners will evaluate the student interns. The evaluation forms will be distributed to the business/industry partners. Students may pick up a copy of the evaluation form below. Student interns will complete a reflective capstone project upon completing the project. The capstone project is a 2:30 minute to 3:30 minute Youtube video explaining the following: 1) Where you interned; 2) What skills did you learn on the internship; 3)What you learned about your potential career; 4) How the internship experience influenced your future career plans. This video should be completed and submitted via email to breeves@farmington.k12.mo.us .
Hours: Students would need to complete a total of 30 hours of service working for their business/industry partners . For the summer session pilot, the hours will be flexible to accommodate both the schedules of the student and the industry partner. However, we do recommend that the student intern in four or five hour time increments in order to more fully see the operation of the industry.
FHS Staff Role: FHS staff will need to meet and observe the student in the work environment at least once during this process. As such the student must clearly communicate and schedule a time for the FHS staff to observe briefly the student in the work environment.
