Description: Support the success of individual students by selecting relevant strategies to implement and reflecting on the impact they have on keeping students functioning members of the group.
The impact of trauma on a student’s brain often results in unmet needs in their school environment. Teachers who understand this impact and implement intervention and accommodation strategies are able to increase the student’s sense of safety and empowerment in the classroom. This course provides an opportunity to deeply analyze the needs of an individual student matched to relevant strategies.

Who Can Attend: Any teacher who teaches small groups of students.
Description: Maximize learning and engagement for the entire class during small group instruction.
Implementing small group instruction requires an understanding of one of the most complex formats a teacher encounters, especially when they are responsible to both the whole class and the small group learning at the same time. Management of routines, procedures, and behavior is a prerequisite to effectively differentiating curriculum and meeting all students’ needs. This course will ensure teachers are prepared to apply specific strategies that promote success for the students.
Attendance to this course will allow you to:
· Apply management strategies to increase effectiveness of small group instruction.
· Apply management strategies to increase effectiveness of whole group instruction and independence
· Establish routines and procedures that create a predictable learning environment

There are three different Foundations trainings geared at specific groups. Teachers will need to choose the Foundations course that suits their needs best.
Who Can Attend: Any Teacher, coach, or admin can attend this training, even if the teacher, coach, or admin has taken this course before.

Description: Develop a variety of easy and practical behavior management strategies that really work.
Through self-paced online training videos, articles, and reflection exercises, you will learn strategies to strengthen relationships, increase equity, reduce frustration, and foster independence in the classroom. These effective strategies are based on more than 50,000 classroom observations.
Course participants will leave this workshop with a set of foundational tools that are immediately useable and focused on classroom management. The tools will support all students while using purposeful and deliberate communication to strengthen student voice, ownership, and independence with curriculum.

· Keep the focus on relationships instead of student behavior

· Increase flexibility and reduce surprise
· Keep the focus on relationship instead of student behavior
· Support individuals while increasing independence
· Work collaboratively with teachers to send a consistent message
· Know when to work independently from the teacher while supporting the same goals

First Time Taking Course: Hourly Rate of Pay
Second Time Taking Course: If you have attended this course during either the 2021-2022 or the 2022-2023 school year, or attended the August 16, 2023 Supporting Whole Group Training, attendance will be on your own time and there will be no payment for attendance

In the Foundational Skills Review, the contexts, skills, and strategies learned at the Whole Group Leadership Foundational Skills and the Supporting Whole Group Leadership Foundational skills are reviewed. They can be broken down into chunks and reviewed completely, or can just reviewed one context at a time as the need arises.
If you are interested in knowing more about a specific Beyond the Foundations skill, this training can be tailored specifically to what your school needs and can be quick and concise.
