Quick Glance:

What is Student Accessibility Services (SAS)?

The Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) works with students with disabilities to determine reasonable accommodations and ensure that they have equal access to all aspects of their education.

Is SAS the right support for me?

At Franklin & Marshall, students are entitled to reasonable accommodations based on a disability. These accommodations can be for students with either physical, learning, medical or mental health-related disabilities.

In accordance with equal education opportunity laws, the Office of Student Accessibility Services (SAS) arranges to provide appropriate academic accommodations for students with disabilities. Appropriate academic accommodations for students with disabilities are determined on an individual basis utilizing the required documentation of the disability.

Every student at the College has the opportunity to complete a SAS Intake Form. The College considers information provided on this form confidential and uses it to provide appropriate accommodations for qualifying students.

What should I expect in a meeting with SAS?

When first registering with SAS, you will be asked to complete an Intake Form and provide supporting documentation of your disability. SAS will then contact you to schedule a brief meeting with Dr. Alison Hobbs, SAS Director, or Lauren Weber, SAS Assistant Director. This meeting is an essential part of the interactive process to determine what reasonable accommodations may be granted given the nature of your disability.

How do I schedule a meeting with SAS?

If you have a documented disability and would like to schedule a meeting to set up your accommodations, please complete an SAS Intake Form.  If you have recent (within 5 years) documentation of your disability from a care provider, please submit that along with your SAS Intake Form.

Return your completed documentation to the Office of Student Accessibility Services. It can be:

Once we receive your completed intake form and supporting documentation, SAS will contact you via email to schedule a meeting with you.
