What is Q&SC?
The Quantitative & Science Center is the home of science and quantitative tutoring at F&M. The Q&SC offers free peer tutoring for selected math, biology, chemistry, physics, economics, BOS, computer science, psychology, astronomy and statistics classes. Is Q&SC the right support for me?
If you’re taking a supported course, we have free peer tutoring available for you! Tutoring is for everyone. Our tutors know how to focus a session on the needs of their tutees and consequently are helpful regardless of the tutees academic background, level, and goals.
How do you find tutoring? You can check schedules and make appointments in the Q&SC Scheduler. Many faculty mention Q&SC support in their syllabus, and tutors make announcements about tutoring in class and on Canvas. You can also access the Scheduler from the Academics Tab of MyDiplomat – look for the big blue button labeled Q&SC Tutoring.
What should I expect in a Q&SC appointment?
Q&SC tutoring comes in several different formats.
Individual Tutoring– Meet one-on-one with a tutor to address your questions.
Drop-Ins– Just walk in, no advance appointment necessary. Bring your questions for a tutor’s help.
QuEST (Quantitative Extra Study Time)-- Tutor-led activities to help you improve study skills and master course content.
Regardless of the format, you can count on meeting with a friendly tutor who will listen to your needs and help.
