Kevin Systrom

Kevin Systrom born in Holliston Massachusetts and his business partner Mike Krieger formed an app called Instagram in October 2010. By April 2012 the app had gotten over 100 million active users. It was amazing, he was big. Many awards came his way since then. Till this day more and more people have signed up and used. They made it to be used for sending pictures or texting, even sharing videos to friends or just on the internet. Instagram grows by 23% each year. More features have been added since then. Systrom was in San Francisco working on a project when he thought that him and his partner Krieger had to create something that would allow people to share their photography and videos to anyone. He got the word "Instagram" from a portmanteau that means instant camera.

In 2011 hashtags were made to express photos and people. Popular tags became known and many used them, soon became viral. Celebrities even started to sign up and use it. Instagram hit world wide, using different languages and ideas. In the app of 2016 you can like peoples comments and share their post maybe because you liked it or wanted to try it. Designated messages or DM are private messages so you can talk about anything to anyone. On your page you can express yourself with pictures or messages that interest you. Followers are the people who follow you obviously and can like your photos. Throughout the app you can search up anything ex. nature, music, celebrities. A new feature of the app is called "your story" its made to share a photo or saying to everyone without posting it. They focused on the speed of the app because mostly everyone doesn't like waiting for something to upload or refresh. Once you post something on the network but then deleting it dissapears. In his words " People like the filters and being able to just be you" - Kevin Systrom. Its easier for people to connect around the world.
