During the 2017-2018 year, Everybody Matters has had the privilege of providing a team of 15 interns. These interns are bachelor's and master's students at local universities and provide advanced social emotional support. Please see below for some of their bios.
Miss Abriana
Miss Abriana is a BSW student at ASU and chose Everybody Matters because from she heard about the program really making a difference in the lives of so many students. She wants to be able to be there for kids going to any sort of trouble, and to be able to help them in any way she can. She chose Everybody Matters because it sounded like the best way to achieve that goal.
Miss Amanda
Amanda is a second year MSW student at ASU. She enjoys working with children, teens, and young adults. Amanda started with Everybody Matters in the Spring of 2017 and is grateful to continue as an intern through the Spring of 2018. Amanda grew up in New Jersey and moved to Arizona in June 2016. Amanda was drawn to social work because of the endless opportunities to make a difference in individuals' lives.
Ms. Angela
Angela Duque-Parks is a BSW student with an Emphasis in Social Work at GCU. She is an Arizona native, born and raised. She has always had a passion for working with children of all ages, having worked with them one way or another throughout her educational career. She looks forward to being a part of the Everybody Matters team and cannot wait for the learning experiences she will gain in helping students.
Miss Ashley
Miss Ashley is a Bachelors of Family and Human Development student at ASU. She chose to intern with Everybody Matters because she loves working with children, and working in Title 1 schools. She hopes to use the knowledge from this internship to become a social worker, and plans to pursue a Masters in Social Work after graduating. Ashley joined Everybody Matters in Spring 2018.
Ms. Betheny
Ms. Betheny is an MSW student at Arizona State University. She completed her BSW in 2014. She enjoys working with children and families, and is excited about being a new member of the Everybody Matters team.
Mrs. Britni
Mrs. Britni is currently a second-year Master's of Social Work (MSW) student at Arizona State University and focuses on children youth and families. She previously graduated with her Bachelors of Social Work (BSW) from Arizona State University. Britni loves working with kids and wants to get a job after graduation working with children. Her favorite activity when working with children is to teach them mindfulness and how to thrive in all situations in their lives. Britni loves being an intern at Everybody Matters because she gets to work doing what she loves which is helping children and teaching them to have more self-confidence.
Ms. Danielle
Danielle is a second year MSW student with a focus in Policy, Administration, and Community Solutions (PAC). This is her second year interning with Everybody Matters, and she is working to learn as much as she can about how to effectively manage nonprofits. She enjoys working with others, and learns coding, crochets, and reads in her spare time.
Mr. Deret
Deret is a Bachelor's of Social Work student at ASU. Deret chose EM because he loves working with children and making their lives better. He will graduate in the spring of 2018. He is originally from Flagstaff, AZ. He hopes to pursue a law degree or a master's but is currently undecided.
Mrs. Kelsie
Kelsie received her Bachelor's in Social Work prior to working with children and families in the field for two years. She has always had a passion for working with children. When she is done with her degree, she hopes to continue working with children.
Ms. Mackenzie
Mackenzie is currently a senior BSW student at ASU, where she is majoring in social work and minoring in criminal justice/criminology. In the past, she has volunteered/worked with agencies that provide crisis and suicide prevention services, temporary living for children in crisis, respite and habilitation care for clients with developmental disabilities, and emergency/ongoing services for homeless individuals. Mackenzie chose to work with Everybody Matters because she loves working with children and their families, and is excited to work for an organization with such passion and positivity!
Miss Rachael
Rachael is a first-year MSW student at Arizona State University. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Rachael traveled up to the Pacific Northwest and obtained a BA in Political Science from Seattle University. After serving in the Jesuit Volunteer Corps in Phoenix, Rachael fell in love with Arizona and wanted to return to the southwest. In her spare time, Rachael enjoys reading and spending time with friends. Rachael is excited to combine her passions of social work and working with youth and is looking forward to joining Everybody Matters!
Mr. Tristan
Tristan is a dual-major student at Arizona State University pursuing a Bachelor's of Social Work (BSW) and a Bachelor's of Non-Profit Management. He finds kids to be so creative, bright, and imaginative, and wanted to find an internship that challenged him and gave him the opportunity to work with kids. He found such an internship at Everybody Matters. Tristan is originally from Maine, but has been in Arizona for more than a decade. He hopes to work in trauma or crisis after completing his education. His favorite food is pizza, and he loves to spend time with his friends and playing music.
