Ms. Courtney
Courtney Alexandra Bogardus has known that she wants to help others since she was a child. She graduated from Saguaro High School in 2010 and then went on to Scottsdale Community College, where she earned her Associate Degree with a focus in Political Science. Following that, she attended Arizona State University, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science with a minor in Women and Gender Studies. It was not until taking her Women and Gender Studies classes that she realized she wanted to do more than helping victims through law and order. She discovered that she had a passion for social work. It was at this point in her life that she decided to jump into a completely different discipline of study and applied to ASU's Masters of Social Work program. In the time between completing her undergraduate degree and starting her masters degree, she also received a certificate in Alternative Dispute Resolution through Georgia State University. Currently, Courtney is completing her second and final year of the Masters of Social Work program at ASU and is projected to graduate in May 2017. She is a member of Phi Alpha, the Social Work Honors Society, and will be graduating with honors.
Courtney is hoping to continue working with children in her practice and ultimately hopes to help future generations.
Ms. Danielle
Danielle is a first-year MSW student at Arizona State University with a BS in Microbiology from the University of Arizona. She does one-on-one meetings with students providing social-emotional support in addition to strategies regarding difficult situations including stress, self-esteem, and problem-solving. She is honored to be at Everybody Matters because she can see the impact she has on students and gets a unique perspective on how programs are run. Danielle is intending to pursue a policy and administration specialization in social work, and enjoys seeing both the direct practice side and how it interacts with the policy side of social work in this program. She looks forward to helping direct nonprofits once she graduates.
A great "Everybody Matters Moment": A student told Ms. Danielle she wants to be an "Everybody Matters Person" when she grows up.
Ms. Deanna
Deanna Hill is an MSW student at Arizona State University. She is a native of Arizona and graduated from Arcadia High School. She joined the United States Navy after high school graduation. She has worked many jobs over the years but did not find my passion until she became a social worker.
At her internship with Everybody Matters she does individual sessions with children ages 5 - 8. Young children amaze her! They are wise beyond their years and they "tell it like it is".
She is forever grateful to Lori Madrid and the other social workers she is having the opportunity to learn from. The interns she is sharing this journey with are also an amazing asset to her learning experience.

Ms. Jessica
Jessica is a second-year Master's in Social Work student. She received her Bachelor's in Social Work prior to working with children and families in the field for two years. Jessica interacts with students on a weekly basis for individual meetings, by providing emotional and social support. Some areas that are focused on include: enhancing self-esteem, increasing organizational skills, managing difficult situations, improving communication, managing emotions, and increasing healthy friendships. Techniques and activities used during each meeting are individualized for each child by incorporating each student's strengths and interests. She is so excited to be a part of the Everybody Matters Team because this is an amazing opportunity to see each child's individual growth! Jessica is already learning so much from her kiddos and cannot wait to continue her journey with Everybody Matters!

Ms. Shelby
Shelby is a second-year MSW student at ASU. She saw the enjoyment and passion Lori Madrid showed for developing this program and knew she had to be a part of it. She has yet to look back. She wakes up ready to help these kiddos in the best way she can. This internship warms her heart and makes her day so much better.
A Great "Everybody Matters Moment": One student always leaves her a message before she walks into the room, and it's always "Shelby I missed you and I love you."
Ms. Taryn
Taryn is a second-year MSW student. She has always had a passion for working with children and adolescents. She loves working with Everybody Matters because she can see how much the kids progress week by week. It's amazing to see how much of an impact one can have on a child's life just by meeting with them once a week.
Taryn has a lot of experience running groups and is very excited about running mindfulness and social skills groups. She cannot wait to see the positive effects that these groups have on the kids. She is very happy to be a part of such an awesome program.
