Recognize That Mistakes are a Gift We understand that what most would call a “mistake” is actually a message that something is amiss and that we need to communicate more clearly, learn something new or change the way we operate. We communicate negative situations to the supervisor immediately and honestly so that they can be solved right away.

  8. Supervision is Paramount We understand that learning from the masters is essential. Although we are eager and motivated, as new practitioners we must listen and learn from those who are passing the torch to us. Even supervisors seek guidance from other professionals.
  9. The Relationship is the Most Important Thing We believe fully that having a trusting and positive relationship with the children we counsel is our number one priority. Coping techniques and strategies are determined after this relationship has been established.
