One of my favorite things about interning at Everybody Matters was the opportunity to work with multiple colleagues and having group supervision to learn from each other. I also enjoyed the opportunity to work with a wide range of clients from elementary school to high school and connecting with staff members from several schools within the Paradise Valley Unified School District. I learned so much and I'm so grateful I was able to work with Lori Madrid. Currently, I'm a primary therapist at Evolution Way; a rehabilitation facility treating clients struggling with substance abuse.
My favorite thing from this internship is leading groups at a high school in the district. I love it. I have the opportunity to be creative.
If Tywan's name looks familiar, it is because he returned as a 2016-2017 Everybody Matters intern. He lead groups at several schools in the Paradise Valley Unified School District.
Everybody Matters was an unparalleled experience. Through individual and group supervision, I was able to learn so much. Working with elementary, middle, and high school students was one of my favorite parts about Everybody Matters. I am currently working in a middle school as a social emotional behavioral specialist.
I loved learning new ways of working with kids and seeing them grow and develop new ways of thinking! One of my highlights was one of my kiddos telling me that he used one of the techniques I taught him to calm down and it worked!
