ACT Test Prep:
The SAT tests the reading, writing and math skills that you learn in school. Typically done in the Spring of junior year and, if needed, students retest in the Fall of senior year.
SAT Test Prep:
UC will not consider SAT or ACT test scores when making admissions decisions or awarding scholarships.
If you choose to submit test scores as part of your application, they may be used as an alternative method of fulfilling minimum requirements for eligibility or for course placement after you enroll.
For more information, visit the UC Freshman Requirements.
The California State University (CSU) no longer uses ACT or SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses. If accepted to a CSU campus, ACT or SAT test scores can be used as one of the measures to place students in the proper mathematics and written communication courses.
For more information about testing requirement for the CSU system, visit their website.
*Minimum GPA requirement has increased to 2.5. Applicants with a GPA between 2.0-2.49 are subject to additional requirements.
Private Colleges and Universities may require test scores. Others are test-optional or test-blind. Check with each individual private college for more information about their admission requirements.
Community Colleges do not require test scores for admissions.
