Create professional development to train staff on all aspects of the Tier 1 system, including
PBIS implementation and professional development are intertwined. As noted in Feature 1.6, professional development needs to be continual and consistent in order to properly support implementation with fidelity.
Often, PBIS leadership teams are developing PBIS resources as well as the professional development for those resources at the same time. Othertimes, a professional development sub-committee is formed to ensure there is an emphasis on and long term plan for PBIS professional development.
Regardless of how it is developed, the important part of PBIS professional development is that it is on-going. Some districts make it a part of any and all staff development meetings, often revisiting topics in which staff have already been trained on, in order to maintain proper implementation.
