PLANNING FOR INSTRUCTION

In order to ensure we have a viable curriculum, we must make sure our lesson plans are aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning. We know that the written, taught, and tested curriculum must be aligned to achieve the result of excellence in academic performance for our students and the ECPS Team. Our team is expected to use the given lesson plan templates, tailored specifically to the content area instructional model. Our lesson plan templates incorporate coaching comments to help our teachers to understand each component of a lesson as they plan minute by minute, section by section as to maximize an engaging instructional block

5Cs THINKING ROUTINES

Our team is expected to embed high-yield thinking routines through the lens of the 5Cs – critical thinking, creative thinking, collaboration, communication, and citizenship.
