Ourselves as Language Learners: Focus on Pronunciation

Facilitator Samantha Parkes, moderator Mary Scholl, panelists Jonnathan Elizondo, Shirley Duarte, Elianna Barrantes and MEP Advisors Ana Isabel Campos, Marianela Granados, Alfredo Ortego Cordero, Yaudy Ramirez Vasquez have worked together to create this webinar in which participants reflect on themselves as language learners in regards to pronunciation and will be introduced to the Color Vowel Approach as a tool for their own learning.   Using the Color Vowel Chart, teachers can develop an easy vocabulary with which to identify their own strengths and areas for growth. They can visually and physically experience where sounds are located in the mouth, and using the Color Vowel Organizer, they can categorize the various ways to spell the same sound.  This approach is useful and attractive to all ages and levels of English language proficiency.

This webinar was given on June 13, 2018. It was funded by the US Embassy in San Jose, Costa Rica and organized by the Ministerio de Educación Publica de Costa Rica in collaboration with Centro Espiral Mana. (Now known as the Institute for Collaborative Learning)
