*NEW - Lorain County Careers Connect

*This is a new initiative added since our 2023-24 BAC Plan was created.

Need: We need more opportunities for students to have authentic experiences as they explore careers in high school.  

Objective: Utilize relationships at the county departments to create a county wide program to allow students to be placed in authentic experiences (fire, police, water, parks, etc) beyond large group tours. Once implemented, utilize the format to expand to other businesses and community based organizations

We met with County Commissioner Jeff Armbruster and many of the county departments from across Lorain County on February 7th, 2023.  Below is the presentation we provided to the county departments.  We are excited so many departments have responded and have volunteered to be a part of a county-wide initiative next year where students visit and learn about jobs through our government offices!

Lorain County Court System

We recently received a request from the Lorain County Court system to provide an Honorary Bailiff Program this summer to high school students interested in exploring careers in the court system!
