YouScience: Empowering Students to Discover Career Pathways

The Lorain County Business Advisory Council, in partnership with Lorain County JVS and Lorain County Community College, is bringing YouScience to middle and high schools across the county.

Why YouScience?
YouScience helps students uncover their natural aptitudes and connect them to real-world career opportunities. Unlike interest surveys that can change over time, aptitude assessments give students a clearer, research-based picture of where their strengths can take them. This tool provides students, families, and educators with powerful insights to guide career exploration, planning, and readiness for the future.

How It’s Funded
Through a unique countywide partnership, the BAC, LCJVS, and LCCC are co-funding the cost of YouScience over the next three years. The partnership will cover 95% in year one, 75% in year two, and shift to a 50/50 cost share in year three. This phased model ensures that every middle and high school student who wants to use YouScience has access while also building long-term sustainability for schools.
