Here's a random selection of learning and fun happening in P3 this month.
P3 were challenged to create a shelter for a Lego character using natural materials.
See below for their amazing efforts including an outdoor swimming pool and paths.
Adam C - We were building houses for Lego figures.
Keir - We found a perfect spot because there was a water feature. We found a good stick to put leaves on.
Toby - We looked after the Lego figure.
Noah and I made a really good shelter by putting sticks into the ground an putting leaves on top. We had so much fun building our house for the Lego figuer.
As part of possession games skills lessons in PE, P3 have been learning hockey skills.
We has a great lesson this week on controlling the ball in different ways; side to side, back and forward and tap-tap-pull.
Everyone was so engaged in holding the stick correctly and keeping their ball under control.
Next time, passing and some short games.
P3 were taking part in some measure investigations this week.
Independently the children were to weigh the objects and investigate which were heavier and lighter.Â
They also had some choice over which objects to weigh.
There were some great discussions about what exactly each object weighed so some small weights were added (10g, 20g, 500g, 1kg) which led to further investigations.
The children tried to find objects which weighed more, less or the same as the small weights.
P3 are exploring setting descriptions.
We went for a sense walk in the playground paying attention to what we could smell, hear, feel and see.
Back in class, we used our notes to write a paragraph to describe the playground environment.
A collection of maths from the past couple of weeks.
There are some place value, addition calculations and 3D objects.
