We are improving our ability to throw and catch objects. In this lesson, we used beanbags. For this activity, we had several levels of challenge:
1) throwing and catching from sitting
2) throwing and catching from kneeling
3) throwing and catching from standing with 2 hands
4) throwing and catching from standing with 1 hand
5) throwing and catching from a distance
At Eaglesham Primary School, all classes have the opportunity to take part in Free Writing Fridays. In Primary 1, we have adapted this to ‘Have a Go Writing Fridays’. Pupils receive a booklet with a variety of pictures to inspire their writing. They are encouraged to write independently, creating sentences or labeling what they see.
As chosen by the pupils, we are exploring the solar system and learning about the sun, moon, and stars, as well as how they relate to our planet. We are developing an understanding of day and night, the movement of the Earth, and how space exploration helps us learn more about the universe.
We are continuing to show and tell the time using analogue clock! This time we acted as the clock hands!
We have also been exploring o'clock and half past times on the digital clock. Please continue to practise this at home! 🏠⌚
Our local church youth worker, Murdo, visited Primary 1 and shared engaging stories from the Bible. The children had the opportunity to ask questions and share their own experiences related to the story.
We have been learning about emergency situations and what to do if you find yourself in one! To extend our learning, we had a visit from the Clarkston Fire Service. We were praised for our questioning, with the fire service commenting on how respectful and engaged we all were!
