We are learning the correct formation of 0-9. We use rhymes to guide us!
When we are self-assessing our work in our jotters, we consider the shape, direction and size of our numbers. We use a pink pen and a green pen to show this!
Ask us what we use the pink and green pens mean. 🎯
We then took our learning outside and used natural objects to form the numbers!
In Primary 1, we enjoyed combining art and writing by drawing self-portraits and adding small pictures or some words to share more about who we are. The children were excited to use their writing jotters for the very first time, eagerly filling the page! It was a fantastic way to get to know each other better while practising our drawing and writing skills.
In Primary 1, we have been introduced to Drawing Club! Inspired by Greg Bottrill's imaginative approach, we began by exploring the story Each Peach Pear Plum. Together, we identified rhyming words and explored characters and settings. Using Old Mother Hubbard as our character of choice, we created drawings of her mysterious cellar. To bring our artwork to life, we added secret passcodes and passwords. Be sure to ask us about these at home—we can't wait to share our creative ideas with you!
