A Day in Primary 2 Bravo

Soft Start

In the morning, the children will self-register and seize opportunities to play across a range of different areas. This enables children to settle into the school day while developing skills that can be applied within the classroom and beyond. Additionally, it provides an opportunity for me to check in with the children and to observe and take part in their play. This helps me direct the planning of learning and teaching to best meet learner needs. A short carpet time is then led where we set the day's date, discuss the weather, revise our months of the year and go through our targets and learning timetable for the day.

Opportunities to play are offered throughout the day, and the environment is routinely considered and changed to meet learner needs and interests.
