Samuel Coleridge-Taylor was born in 1875 and was of mixed-race descent. He was a classical composer and musician at a time when there were  not many composers of African descent, so he had to work extra hard and be extra talented to achieve his success. 

He was very ambitious and composed so many songs in his short life. His music showed his emotions and what he had gone through.
