Darcus Howe had seven children and was married to British editor and activist Leila Hassan.
On April 1st 2017, Darcus Howe died of prostate cancer at the age of 74 .He was married three times and had seven children and left behind a legacy and activism and organization and empowerment. Howe was a brilliant man who knew how to get his community involved in its own liberation.
In 1981 he organised a 20,000 strong black peoples day of action in protest at the handling of the investigation into the new cross fire in which 13 black teenagers died.
