Who was Arthur Mapp?


Arthur Mapp was a bronze medalist in the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games. This was significant because he was the first black male to win a medal at the Olympics. He was also a Corporal in the Army at the times of his success. Therefore he was a role model to young people as he worked hard to achieve his dreams. He sadly lost to the gold medallist in the semi-finals Dietmar Lorenz

but gained  his redemption against Dambajavyn Tsend-Ayuush.
