The story of Olive Morris
Olive Morris was born in Jamaica, She moved to London in 1962 when she was 9 years old. When she was in London she committed to social changes and to make the country better. Olive and some other woman founded the Organisation for Women Asian and African Descent. She also helped to found Brixton Black Women's Group. Unfortunately she died on the 12 of July 1979 at the age of 27 due to cancer. She was an amazing, brave woman and we should all remember her because she ws told to be quiet so many times and wouldn't.
''Each time I tried to talk or raise my head I was slapped in the face''-Olive Morris
Olive Morris was physically beaten and racially assaulted as a result of her activism. But even after that she didn't stop! This is the kind of bravery that we can all look up to.
We should celebrate Olive Morris's legacy (and every other black woman and man who fought for change) She was an Amazing, Brave, Compassionate and Inspiring woman and we should all remember her and her legacy.
