The Equip Studio personality is CREATIVE & COLLABORATIVE. We value family and fellowship, and the unique perspective and talents that each of our team members bring to the table. We solve problems with grace and creativity, working together to make designs and projects better. We are always striving to be better celebrate growth of our firm and the individuals that make it great.
Whenever possible and appropriate, always try to use First Person Plural Pronouns. This is what we like to call TEAM BASED LANGUAGE; it most accurately reflects the collaborative nature of our work and communicates to others that Equip is united in a team-oriented work environment.
Be quick to apologize when you make a mistake. We don't want to come across as cocky to any of our teammates, consultants, or clients. No one can be expected to know everything; chances are you will get something wrong at least once in your career. Everyone makes mistakes, and knowing how to take responsibility for those mistakes is humble and professional: things that are both greatly valued here at Equip.
It is always a good idea to ask yourself if your spoken or written communication reflects the Equip Studio core convictions: SPARK , HIGH VALUE, GENEROSITY, AND FAMILY-CENTRIC. These are the four values that set us apart and by which we want to be recognized. You can always ask a team mate to proof read an email to help you make sure what you are saying is appropriate.
It is always important to remember that as long as you are an employee, you are also a representative of Equip Studio. You should strive to represent us well by acting in a professional manner. It is a good idea to ask yourself, "How will this reflect on Equip Studio?"
Since the field of Architecture and Design is collaborative, we are almost never working alone. We are constantly communicating with clients, consultants, contractors, etc. When taking meeting notes and writing lengthy emails, it is professional practice to refer to your collaborators as representatives of their respective parties and/or companies, rather than an individual. For example, you should write "Equip Studio reccomends...", instead of "Bobby Joe said...". This is especially important when conflicts arise; calling out individuals can escalate situations and cause people to be upset and/or defensive because they feel like they are being blamed and others are pointing fingers at them.
The statements below are examples of carefully crafted, office approved language relating to specific professional and legal documents and/or scenarios.
