Girls' Softball:

The Tigers softball team consists of a very young team. Coaches are working effortlessly to prepare the young ladies for higher and older competitions, and this team isn't disappointing! Learning under the senior leaders and coaches, the team is competitive, and the future is bright for the program! As of now, the girls' softball team is clicking together with a blow out game, 22-2 win, against Timothy Christian. This made our girls begin to get some notice in the conference.

A special shout out to the seniors who are leading this great group like Melanie Arroyo, Alicia Marecka, and Jessica Pagan!

Boys' Baseball

As of right now, the Tigers baseball program is a work in progress. Consisting of mostly a young group of guys, the Tigers seem to have a lot of talent. Despite losing a few games to teams like IC Prep and Ridgewood, the progress can clearly be seen, and the future for baseball is looking better than ever as the coaches train the young men to improve day after day.

A shout out to our seniors who help lead the way, like Carlos Ballon III, Joey Lockwood, and Nicholas Velazquez!

Boys' Track

Under great coaches and great senior leaders, it's an exciting season for the boys' track team! The program is nearly halfway through the season and is continuing to improve. The coaches are excited to see their older group of guys compete for their last year, and they look forward to the development of the new incoming freshmen, sophomores, and juniors.

Shout out to the seniors of this year, including Daniel Diaz, Daniel Galinski, Kamil Kotarski, Marco Antonio Lopez, Jesse Rios, Joe Scheidt, and Anthony Wernsing. Thanks to all seniors and go Tigers!

Girls' Track

The girls' track season is off and running for the 2021 season! The program and its athletes have experienced some success throughout their recent meets, continuing to improve day after day. Coaches and fans love to see the seniors and upper class-men compete! The coaches also can't wait to see how the incoming freshmen and underclassmen develop into the next set of leaders.

Speaking of leaders, let's mention the seniors: Cyan Adorno, Damaris Alonso, Angelina Bonilla, Bianca Caracci,Victoria Chowaniak, Lauren Cortes, Konstance Kakridas, Karolina Miskowiec, Alexis Nieves, Naomi Ramirez, Jaanai Simmons, Natalia Turek, Olesya Yatskiv, and Angela Zamudio! Congrats, ladies!

Girls' Soccer:

Girls' soccer is doing great with a recent win over Chicago Christian: 5-4. Although a great way to start, the young group is hungry for more, and we are sure the coaches are as well! With great senior leaders, an amazing coaching staff, and more, the girls' soccer team is ready to continue competing against the best of the best!

Shout out to the seniors: Alexa Duarte, Karina Vargas, Madison Garcia, and Diana Rivero.

Dance Team

The dance team has some welcome, yet unexpected, success this year! Despite being the first official year, the dance team performed very well and won many competitions. Under Ms. Shafer, the girls' dance team was able to extend into the football season, being cheered on by fans and football players alike.

One of Ms. Shafer's best moments include both of her team captains, Angelina Gutierrez and Jade Guzman, earning All Conference titles. In the words of Ms. Shafer, she "couldn't be prouder of the season they had to bring back the dance team to Elmwood Park!"

Boys' Volleyball

The boys' volleyball team is off to a rough start. Despite some tough losses this year, we know our volleyball team has done incredible things in the past, and, with the same group of guys, it's only a matter of time before they get hot. As the team gets back into a rhythm, we know they will do amazing under Head Coach Rivera as he prepares them to compete at the highest level. We can't wait to see when they break the barrier and take off like they did last year.

Shout out to senior Simon Waz, who leads the team.

COVID-19 Update

As of now IHSA has put out new information regarding the vaccine and more.

Vaccinated or not, players still must wear masks. However, as promised by the IHSA, many sports going on are allowed to have playoffs, state championships, and more, which is a big risk that is seeing minimum issues right now.

At EPHS, the same rules apply, including completing Crisis Go honestly. If at any time you question your health or even think that you do not feel well, talk to a family member and coach. Please do not just say "I'll be good." Stay home and get tested. As long as all student athletes continue doing what's right, the school will have an easy job and hopefully our athletes will be able to finish their seasons without any delays or complications.
