Graduation Requirements, the minimum credit requirements in order to earn a high school diploma from East Pennsboro Area High School
Students shall meet the minimum credit requirements in order to earn a high school diploma from the East Pennsboro Area High School. In addition to earning these credits all students must also meet the school attendance requirements, satisfy one of the five statewide high school graduations pathways under Act 158 (see "State High School Graduation Pathways" below), and complete all required elements of the EP Pathfinders Career Development Program.

Each year at the high school, students schedule 7 credits that they will earn if they successfully pass their classes. In order to be promoted to the next grade level, students must earn a minimum number of credits each year. A total of 25 credits is required to earn an East Pennsboro diploma, as outlined above.

Students MUST successfully pass their grade level English and Social Studies courses each year, as these courses are sequential. If a student fails one of these courses, they must complete credit recovery, or risk being required to return to school for a 5th year.
Act 158 of 2018, which was signed into law by Governor Tom Wolf on October 24, 2018, shifts Pennsylvania’s reliance on high stakes testing as a graduation requirement to provide alternatives for high school students to demonstrate readiness for postsecondary success. This legislation expands the options for students to demonstrate postsecondary readiness through four additional pathways that more fully illustrate college, career, and community readiness. Therefore, in addition to earning sufficient credits and completing the requirements of the EP Pathfinders program, students graduating as part of the Class of 2023 and beyond must satisfy one of the five state graduation requirement pathways as outlined below in order to earn a diploma from the East Pennsboro Area High School:
