How I began:
I wanted to open this book with how I got into music; the guitar. I have been playing guitar since I was five years old and haven't stopped since. At the time, learning guitar was hard, having to painfully get calluses on all of my fingertips and force my fingers to play a bar chord was awful, but now I feel like I can play anything. I attribute a lot of my creativity to my guitar teachers because they showed me that I can create a song with any chord, rhythm, or strumming pattern. Since then, I’ve been writing songs and playing music everywhere. I am always noticing what chords or notes are being played in a song and how I can play them when I get home to my guitar.
