When people come to visit Nashville, The Bluebird Cafe is almost always a stop on their list. It hosts some of the coolest singer-songwriter nights and allows for young and upcoming artists to be discovered. Back in 1982, owner Amy Kurland had inherited some money from her grandmother and wanted to open a small restaurant near her house. However, she never expected it to turn into the landmark it is today. Chet Atkins was one of the first well known musicians to perform there, along with Minnie Pearl and later on Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, and Dierks Bentley. They have an open mic night on Monday and hold auditions for other performers throughout the year.
