Music City and It’s Origins:
When I was moving to Nashville, all I heard was that it was Music City. I didn’t truly realize it until I went to Downtown Broadway. There is music EVERYWHERE. Every bar has a different band or musician playing different songs. The Ryman is right off of Broadway and truly demonstrates Nashville's musicality. Its church-like exterior makes it feel like a religious experience when you walk in and listen to the music in the seats. Known colloquially as the “Mother Church of Country Music,” The Ryman began as the Union Gospel Tabernacle and has been an iconic landmark in Nashville since it first opened its doors in 1892. I have been lucky enough to perform there with Ensworth's a capella group, Encore, in December of 2018.
