Status: Finalizing two critical design decisions regarding the spar base and ADV-housing/probe fastening. The primary component anchoring down the spar is a large railroad wheel and the spar base is to attach to the wheel, but it may not lay flat on the seafloor. Thus, two degrees of freedom are needed so that the spar stands vertically. Design involves having a swivel and a hinge. A probe holder is needed and is being developed on Solidworks and may be fabricated using 3D printing, while simpler materials and approaches are being explored such as using small pipe channels, PVC cement, and hose clamps

Sponsor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
The sponsor was unable to meet last week with the team. Team meets the sponsor every Tuesday at 1pm.
Instructor Comments from Last Meeting and Actions Taken to Address these Comments
Discussed PVC Cement and provided useful information for more reinforcement of spar
Use principal stresses for analysis of PVC pipe instead of Von Mises
The current design was shown to the instructor to get some feedback.
Comments from Other Students in the Class .
Few comments from the Risk Reduction Presentation.
Talk about costs a bit more?
Images used and details provided can be organized in a more interesting manner.
Could have reorganized the wave dynamics into the background information.
I think they can explain more about the picture.
Risks and Areas of Concern
Show TA, Professor, and Sponsor our FEA results. See what can be done to get better results.
