BOOK BORROWING PROCEDURE
BOOK BORROWING PROCEDURE
Students in KG1 to Year 1 do not check out books. Their library visits are dedicated to browsing and storytelling sessions.
Students in Years 2–3 may borrow up to two (2) books at a time. Arabic first-language speakers may check out one (1) book in English and one (1) book in Arabic, while non-Arabic speakers may borrow two (2) books in English.
Students in Years 4–6 may check out up to three (3) books at a time. Arabic first-language speakers may check out one (2) books in English and one (1) book in Arabic, while non-Arabic speakers may borrow three (3) books in English.
All books are due in two (2) weeks. Students may not borrow additional books until overdue ones are returned. Each book may be renewed once only, to ensure fair access for others.
Library Reminder
In case of an overdue book, students and parents will be notified through a system-generated email. If further action is required, an overdue notice will also be sent to the homeroom teacher for follow-up with the student.
Lost and Damaged Book
Lost Books
Students will be charged the listed replacement cost plus a 10% stocking fee. Failure to settle payment for lost books will result in the withholding of library clearance. The outstanding balance will remain on the student’s account. Once payment has been made, the book will be removed from the library collection. Please note that refunds will not be issued if the lost book is later found.
Books Damaged Beyond Repair
Books with missing pages, partially missing pages, or damage caused by water or food will be considered the responsibility of the last borrower, who will be charged accordingly. After the fine is settled, the borrower may keep the damaged book, as it will be removed from the library collection.
Students are advised to carefully inspect all library materials before checking them out. Library staff do not circulate books that are already severely damaged.
