Teach internet safety before using technology in the classroom. Technology can be dangerous if a student does not know how to be safe and use it properly.
Create an understanding between teacher and student on when to use technology and when not to. Along with this develop a set of classroom rules to keep transition periods efficient and keep students on task.
Find activities or programs that correlate with lessons and learning targets. It can be fairly easy to find tools that relate with what the students are learning in the classroom, and some of which are given by the school themselves (ex. Lexia).
If there are no activities or programs that go over what needs to be gone over, create on through Canva or one of the other services similar. There worksheets, projects, collaborative work, and much more can be made and adjusted to any standards that need to be covered.
Use technology to bring fun to learning in the classroom. Students can learn by playing games such as Kahoot or others that teachers can make to cater to their needs. There are also many websites with educational games or ways for students to collaborate with fellow classmates.
