How does the classroom flow and organization promote student learning?
Environment is important because it can set an entire mood. A colorful and welcoming classroom can make the learning environment feel like a positive place. Decorations can be educational, but also look nice. Aligning desks up in groups can help promote working with others as well as build bonds between students. An area in which the class as a whole can gather can help the teacher bond with their class as well as help let students know when something is a group lesson. Students need somewhere they feel safe and comfortable in to be able to learn to their full potential. It also is important to make sure the classroom can flow efficiently and not feel overcrowded. This way, transition periods can feel less chaotic.
I like the idea of having an area that feels fun. I like the way that this area also has items that can be helpful, but look bright and colorful. This also allows for group lesson and activities which is important to help build relationships and trust between both students and me as a teacher.
I want to have space for these semi-circle tables for group help. It can be more efficient to help students that struggle with similar skills and/or ideas at the same time. It also makes students feel more comfortable and not singled out.
I like the way that this classroom is laid out. I think that putting kids in groups is important in order to build relationships and trust between peers. It also allows for more collaborative work. I also like the area on the floor for group lesson.
I want to decorate walls to make the classroom feel like a positive learning environment. It also gives students tools to succeed. Posters and decorations bring character to a classroom and make students feel welcome and positive.
I like the use of the bookshelf to hold items as well as be a barrier like tool to separate parts of the classroom. Having different areas of a classroom can help students associate different places with different things such as subject area or activities. It can also give more storage space.
