Week 6
May 12 - May 16
May 12 - May 16
Today we updated our resources tab in our blog. We have been doing a lot of research and want to share some of the articles and videos we have found interesting. Feel free to check it out! A lot of what we will talk about in our podcasts is information from these articles.
We focused today on eating three healthy meals today. We want to continue this throughout the week too, to see if we noticed a change in our moods. We usually skip breakfast but today Katie made herself avacado toast, Addie had oatmeal and Jemma had eggs.
Today we spent time researching how Epsom Salt helps relax muscles. We found an interesting article that we included on our research page that talks about how Epsom Salt can be used for health, beauty, cleaning, and even gardening! We bought Epsom Salt at CVS and all took a 20 minute bath at our separate houses at the end of the day. We also continued to eat healthier meals.
Today we had our weekly meeting with Dr. Worthley and he gave us some good feedback and suggestions for our podcast that we are excited to share finally!! After our meeting the three of us met at Katie's house to interview her sister Julia about what her first year at college was like and how she had to deal with stress being away from home. She had some very helpful tips and gave us insight on how to make the transition for high school to college smooth.
We also continued our streak about eating healthier meals - as we made chicken caesar salad, and a fruit bowl!
These final two days of this week we started wrapping up our project by going to Jemma's house and filming our podcast! We got a lot done and can't wait for you all to see our final product! We still need to spend a few hours on the weekend to finish editing and uploading the podcast! But it will be ready at the beginning of next week! This project has taught us alot not only about stress relieving techniques but also how to problem solve wien using new apps and platforms for our podcast! We expected to have uploaded a podcast at the end of each week, however we quickly realized that that was not possible due to the amount of time we spent experiencing the different activities. We also ran into technology issues within the first week. However we worked around that and started testing out different apps. Overall I would definitely recommend this experience to other students because I now have a better sense of stratagies that can help me calm down. I would also recommend you check out our podcast that will be posted soon. It includes interviews, reviews, scientific facts about mental health and most importantly feedback from three teenagers dealing with stress that want to help you control your stress in the future!
