Hi my name is Katie Keating! I am a senior at Medfield High School. Next year I will be attending...as an undecided major. I am hoping this project will help me get a better sense of what I may want to study in college. Currently, I am interested in psychology, or health/exercise science and this project can give me a head start on if this is something I want to continue focusing on.
In my free time I enjoy hanging out with friends and family, walking my dogs, and going to the gym. I just had my last season of soccer this past fall. I am now playing my last season of tennis for the high school! I also like to donate my time volunteering for New Life Furniture Matters Club, where I move, clean, touch up used furniture to be given to families in need.
Hi! I'm Jemma Powell and I am a senior at Medfield High school. Next year I am attending... and I plan to major in sports management. I am currently in my last season of spring track, and finished winter track this past winter, and I used to play soccer. In my free time I enjoy working out, hanging out with my family and friends, going to the beach, and traveling.
Hi! I'm Addie Kido and I am a senior at Medfield High School. Next year I am attending Providence College and I plan on majoring in Psychology! Throughout high school I have been involved in school sports like field hockey and track, and worked with three friends to bring a chapter of Girl Up to our school, where we promote women's empowerment. Outside of school I love going to the beach, hanging out with friends anf family and traveling!
Being a high school students and juggling extra curricular activities, work, college searches along with academics can be stressful. Which is why we want to explore different ways to relieve stress and give feedback on our experiences to our peers. We will record a podcast after each activity, so that other students can use this to guide them through stressful times. On the podcast, we want to share our experiences in high school of stressful situations so people can understand they are not alone while still giving them advice on how to deal with the stress. Each week we will have three days of activities to explore. Stay tuned on here on our blog to see updates on each week. We will also be incorporating facts and science behind how systems in our body work to calm our bodies.
Some days may be more stressful than others for us, so when testing out these activities we will have to consider the level of stress that we are feeling and rate the activity accordingly. Which is why we will record our stress levels on a scale of 1-10 before and after participating in the activity. You can look for our podcast at the end of each week, where we will be discussing what we've accomplished! This will give us a better understanding of which activities worked best along with giving our podcast viewers honest feedback.
