The Pima County 4-H/FFA Breeding Doe Division is subject to all rules of the following:

OWNERSHIP DEADLINE:
January 31st, 2025- Ownership is declared on the Google Form. Please Note: Except newborn kids.
KIDS MUST BE BORN BY:
March 15th, 2025 by 11:59 PM- via a Google Form (Instructions on how to enter will be made available prior to the deadline.)
FAIR CHECK-IN DATE:
Monday, April 21st, 2025- 7:00 AM- 9:00 AM and then from 4:30 PM- 7:00 PM
Animals cannot be left at the fairgrounds without being checked in. If you have an emergency, be sure to contact the Project Coordinator immediately.
GOAT EXHIBITOR MEETING:
Monday, April 21st, 2025- following evening Check-In. Location TBA

FAIR CHECK OUT DATE:
Sunday, April 27th, 2025- 6:00 PM (All project animals, exhibits, and poster must remain until 6:00 PM)
Old Pueblo Hall Exhibits required for ALL projects by ALL Pima 4-H County Fair Exhibitors.
Those showing at the 2025 Pima County Fair must enter an exhibit into OPH that is related to their fair project. For those with multiple fair projects, please select one project to represent in OPH. Each individual showman should be creating their own exhibit for OPH based on their individual project. Exhibits can include posters (22"x28" or smaller), photography, baking, welding, etc. feel free to get creative with these exhibits. This excludes FFA members.
A. Breeding projects must be the property of the exhibitor for a minimum of ownership deadline, registered with respective breed associations, in the exhibitors name by ownership deadline. Livestock inspection papers or a bill of sale will be required as proof of the ownership. Commercial breeding projects may have a bill of sale or livestock inspection as proof of ownership. Tattoos or tag and date of birth for each animal must be legible on the ownership paper and file with the Project Coordinator by ownership deadline of January 15th 2025.
B. Each member must provide proof of Quality Assurance that is valid through April 27th, 2025. must be uploaded at time of the ownership deadline.
C. Commercial and registered does if from Arizona must have an Arizona Department of Agriculture Scrapies ID tag. If commercial or registered does from out-of-state must have documentation and out-of-state scrapies ID tag or tattooed, and have ownership or self-inspection papers. If for any reason the scrapies tag comes out you must inform the coordinator, 4-H agent and leader as soon as possible with a picture of the tag and the goat's ear at that time coordinator and 4-H agent will determine the resolution. The exhibitor must provide proof of ownership as per the Arizona State Livestock Board requirements (State of AZ Seasonal Pass ONLY)at time of ownership deadline and will be checked in with the Project Coordinator or Superintendent at fair check-in.
D. Each exhibitor may lease a total of 2 does and their offspring from that current year. Must have a seasonal pass in the exhibitor name.
E. All does must have freshened (kidded) by 24 months of age, to be eligible to be shown in a breeding class.
F. Kids does born after the ownership deadline must be the offspring of a doe registered by ownership deadline and must be in that exhibitor’s name. All kids born after the ownership deadline must be ear tagged or tattooed and registered and/or self inspection papers via Google Forms with the Project Coordinator by March 15th, 2024.
G. At the time of arrival at the livestock Barn, animal must be visually inspected by project coordinator or superintendent prior to penning, if the animal is deemed of questionable health, the on-call veterinarian will be requested to make the final decision as to whether or not the animal in question shall be removed from the fairgrounds or allowed to remain and participate in the show.
H. All registration papers and/or stamped duplicates or lease agreement must be checked in with the Project Coordinator or Superintendent at fair check-in.Tattoos or tag and date of birth and seasonal passes for each animal must match ownership papers that were submitted at time of ownership deadline.
I. A $10.00 project fee (per animal) supporting the Breeding Goat Project awards will be collected at fair check-in.
J. Exhibitors will not be given extra pens for wethers or baby bucks.
K. No bucks will be shown, only those under three months of age will be allowed to be penned.
L. Bracing breeding does is optional.
M. All exhibitors must participate in at least one (1) jackpot show, clinic, or mock show with at least one of their project animals prior to check-in at the Pima County Fair. Exhibitors who attend a show or clinic not sponsored by the Pima County 4-H Sheep and Goat Leader’s Committee must submit a Pima County 4-H Sheep & Goat Project Show/Clinic Attendance Form at fair Check-In.
