This safer recruitment course supports schools to revisit and effectively discharge their responsibilities for safer recruitment.
It is designed as a refresher for anyone who has attended an accredited safer recruitment course in the last three years and needs to update their knowledge and renew their certificate in line with acknowledged good practice requirements.
The course is ideal for Principals, senior leaders, safeguarding staff, school community councillors and all others in the education sector who are involved in staff recruitment and selection.
Participants revisit the skills they need to ensure that safeguarding is at the heart of their recruitment decisions. By the end of our course, participants will have:
reflected on their understanding of offender behaviour
identified key features of staff recruitment that help deter or prevent the appointment of unsuitable people
considered policies and practices that minimise opportunities for abuse or ensure its prompt reporting
identified areas of their own school’s local policies and practices with a view to creating a safer culture and fulfilling their organisation’s statutory responsibilities
* This course is delivered as a two hour session by trainers accredited by the Lucy Faithfull Safer Recruitment Consortium. All participants who attend the full session and pass the assessment will be issued with a certificate of attendance.
