Many businesses including rental facilities like schools and colleges will request insurance certificates and endorsements. This is in their best interest.
The Insurance certificate has the insurance company name, policy number, and limits. We enter their name (Venue Management) in the system as certificate holders when we issue the certificate. An Insurance certifies cate is more like insurance proof (or medical insurance card). Certificate does not give any kind of guarantee to certificate holder (Venue Management) except insurance company will send a copy of cancellation notice and policy change notice to the certificate holder. Endorsement is an amendment in the policy contract. Information goes to an underwriter for review to make changes to the existing policy agreement. This is why it takes few weeks to receive the endorsement.
There are few different endorsements. I have enclosed a sample endorsement for you to see how it looks. Check your rental agreement or contact facility management and ask if they have any specific insurance requirements. I always suggest my clients provide insurance information ONLY when it’s required and provide only information they ask for. This makes them easy to file a claim directly to the insurer.
