Who can participate in the Honors/AP Program at Monterey Trail High school?

All students at Monterey Trail High School may participate in the AP and Honors courses at their choosing. Their participation is based on their motivation and ability to meet the academic standards of the program and their preparation for the course(s).

The benefits of Honors Classes are a boost in your GPA and more demanding coursework.

The benefits of AP Classes is College Level Coursework, a boost in your GPA, and taking the AP Test at the end of the class and scoring a 3 or higher can keep you from having to take the class in College

Honors/AP classes are very demanding in terms of time and effort; if students are considering taking more than three Honors/AP classes next year, they are advised to consult with their counselor before doing so.
