This course focuses on interrelationships of the natural world, energy conversions, environmental problems, and alternative solutions for resolving or preventing them. This Advanced Placement Environmental Science course is designed to be an introductory college course in environmental science. The course content will cover topics outlined by the College Board and will prepare the students to take the AP exam in May. Students will be involved in laboratory and field investigations, individual research and writing laboratory reports.

*SPECIAL NOTE from Mr. Bua: Although any physical science is fine, Chemistry is HIGHLY preferred as various Chemistry concepts are part of the course and the only alternative that could still help you be successful is AP Physics II because of the math rigor if you took that as a junior instead of Chemistry. Physics of the Universe is not sufficient preparation on it's own. Seniors are given priority for the class anyways because there isn't always enough space, so it's best to take Chemistry as a junior and wait until senior year to take APES anyways if you have only taken Physics of the Universe or AP Physics I as a sophomore.
