Department: English 02030 This advanced course focuses on an integrated language arts approach within an enriched standards-based curriculum focusing on writers and the study of a variety of literary and exposition genres. It also includes a wide range of challenging literature. Instruction will focus on reference skills, study and test-taking skills, writing, language mechanics and usage, and vocabulary development. Writing instruction, based primarily upon expository text and literature studied in the course, will center on a variety of models and writing as a process as well as writing on demand. This course will prepare students for critical reading and college-level writing. Note: This course is not granted "honors" credit by the UC system. This EGUSD honors course is not recognized as an honors level course by UC/CSU. It earns an EGUSD GPA enhancement but does NOT earn a GPA enhancement by UC/CSU.
