The California Association FFA is a high school youth leadership and career development organization that is a state association of the National FFA Organization, a federally chartered corporation under Public Law 105-225. The California Association currently serves over 104,000 student members in 366 chapters, from urban schools in Los Angeles and the Bay Area to rural schools all across the state. The California FFA Association is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through Agricultural Education.

Sacramento Section FFA
Elk Grove FFA is apart of the Sacramento Section FFA. Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve. Here in the Sacramento Section, we strive to embody this motto through our willingness to learn, develop, and grow as leaders. We are proud to serve 14 chapters and over 11,000 members. The Sac Section is home to astounding student-leaders in the community, and we can't wait to work with all our amazing FFA members!

Agricultural Education has been providing authentic learning opportunities since 1917 with the passage of the Smith-Hughes Act, and continues to focus on giving students real-world experiences both inside and outside of the classroom. Agricultural Education programs are based on a three circle model that develops the whole student through hands-on classroom and laboratory instruction, student leadership, and work-based learning experiences known as Supervised Agricultural Experience projects.

A critical component to the Agricultural Education learning model, the Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program is where learning comes to life. Students with an SAE learn by doing. With help from their agricultural teachers, students develop an SAE project based on one or more SAE categories beginning with a foundational SAE during their first year in an agriculture course. Students at Elk Grove FFA partake in an Agriscience Experimental SAE, many market animal SAEs, and even have a dedicated class for Agricultural Job SAEs!
