This committee will focuses on our chapter creating or improving opportunities for our members to grow in leadership abilities, academic achievement, character development, and career readiness in different capacities.
Encourages our chapter to engage with and contribute positively to our local community. This pillar focuses on how our chapter creates opportunities for members to engage in activities that promote civic responsibility, environmental stewardship, and community development. Members in this committee will assess local needs, collaborate with community stakeholders, and implement initiatives that foster social, economic, and environmental progress.
Encourages our chapter to promote agricultural literacy, advocacy, and safety within agriculture-related fields. This committee evaluates our opportunities for members to advocate for and support agriculture through educational initiatives, hands-on experiences, and community outreach. Our members will demonstrate their ability to promote agricultural literacy, advance sustainable and safe practices, and contribute to the future success of the agriculture industry through recruitment.
Our scrapbook committee works to create an accurate representation of our chapter's program of activities for the year. Committee members use creativity to form pages that truly capture the memories made with the Elk Grove FFA. Next meeting dates; TBD
The community service committee works to fulfill part of the FFA motto, "living to serve." They create activities which involve the entire chapter and allow us to serve the community that supports and surrounds us.
The Elk Grove FFA School Farm is a hands-on learning environment located behind the football field on the Elk Grove High School campus. Each year, the farm is home to more than 140 animals including hogs, steers, lambs, goats, rabbits, chickens, and turkeys. All students enrolled in agriculture classes have the opportunity to visit and work at the farm while learning about plant and animal care, agricultural science, and the daily responsibilities of running a farm. The farm supports both market and breeding livestock operations, and students may choose to raise their own animals and grow their own plants as part of their Supervised Agricultural Experience projects. The farm teaches students where their food comes from, how to ethically raise and care for animals, and prepares them for careers in agriculture, veterinary science, and related fields, while also helping them develop responsibility, confidence, and a strong work ethic.
