Acorn Class

Acorn Provision is hosted at White Bridge Primary, a large 3 form entry school, set within extensive playing fields. Acorn opened in 2018 and offers five places for children from Essex Primary schools.

The provision is based within the main school building and makes use of the school's facilities. The classroom itself is calm and airy with zones for learning, relaxing and enjoying messier activities. External doors lead straight out onto the playground where children have plenty of space to run around, enjoy the large climbing equipment and challenge themselves on the mile a day track.

White Bridge has a caring and inclusive ethos; all staff have undertaken training, in order to become a TP (Trauma Perceptive) school. The motto at White Bridge is Be the best version of you, staff support children on this journey by valuing wellbeing, fostering a sense of belonging, harnessing potential and celebrating successes. Children attending Acorn Provision are welcomed into the school community and benefit from being part of the White Bridge family.

In Acorn, we provide

• a safe and structured learning experience to promote more helpful behaviours, well-being and happiness

• a personalised curriculum of education for primary aged children

• help for children to be more confident and independent in their learning

• opportunities to develop children’s personal and social growth

• preparation and support for a successful reintegration back into school when appropriate

Acorn staff are trained in Trauma Perceptive Practice and guide the children through developing the 6 core strengths of attachment, affiliation, self regulation, awareness, tolerance and respect.
