What a lovely start to Book Week. We were able to visit the library and chose a picture book, which we then took into Year 1 to do shared reading. Our new friends really enjoyed the books that we chose and we loved listening to them read their books to us too.
We had a fantastic day today celebrating World Book Day. We dressed as our favourite book character and had a wonderful costume parade out on the playground - The sun actually came out for us! In the morning, we all swapped classes and went to listen to an extract of a book that we had chosen from a list of titles. In class, we talked about our books and wrote a description of our character, using all of our Year 4 writing techniques such as fronted adverbials and embedded clauses. As you can see from our photos, everyone made a super effort and we had a lovely day. Can you tell which book character we are?
We really enjoyed coming to school today in our own clothes accessorized with Comic Relief Red noses, red hair, head bands and badges. We did a Red Nose Day Danceathon, designed our own Red Nose and completed a 'Find the punchline wordsearch'. Some of us even did SPaG to do with Red Nose Day. Look how much fun we had!

In maths this week we have been revising shape and symmetry. We reflected our names in a mirror line. Some people wished that they had names like Sam and Joe rather than Arabella and Elizabeth.
Haven't we improved...
Year 4 have had great fun decorating and displaying their marvelous painted eggs to commemorate the Queens Platinum Jubilee. Here are the entries.
This half term we have continued our Scratch Programming by designing and coding a racing game that enables the player to move a Viking Ship along a river to the finish line. If the Viking Ship touches the land, then the ship gets sent back to the beginning.
By combining our historical knowledge about the Vikings and Anglo-Saxons along with our learning about electronic circuits, we designed and tested these multiple choice quiz boards. Using the test circuit, you touch the question with one wire and then whichever answer you think is correct with the other wire. If you have the right answer, the bulb should light up!

For the whole of this half term, we have been busy learning lines and practicing songs for our performance of Goldilocks from Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes. All of our hard work paid off and our performances were a roaring success. We are so proud of you Year 3 & 4. You were all amazing!
In order to bring together our artwork on portraits and the proportions of a face along with our practical claywork skills, we created these tiles depicting various Anglo-Saxon Gods. If you understand how to read runes, you will know who they are...
