For my Personal Project, I decided to create a 10min documentary about the development of the Matinkylä region, focusing on public transportation. I thought it would be interesting to investigate how an urban area is developed. Creating my product involved, planning, research, interviews, filming and editing. In my opinion, the documentary is not cinematically perfect, but I am pleased with it, as it documents my learning process.
Do not procrastinate. I know literally everyone says this, but it is true. Start early, plan carefully, work a little every week, and you'll finish your project on time with no stress. Leaving this project to the last minute will kill you because this project requires quite some work and the period near the deadline of this project is crammed with tests and other projects. When you feel like you can't finish the project on time, ask for an extension, and use the extension wisely.
Choose a topic you like. If you like playing football, do a project about playing football; if you like photographing, make a photo book. Doing something you like ensures that you are motivated to complete this project (and with a high standard). The main thing is to enjoy the process of creating your project.
Make sure your process journal is regularly updated. Having an organized process journal makes writing the report (the part of the project that is most heavily graded) so much easier.
Good luck and have fun! :-)
