Location: Denver, Colorado
The University of Denver (DU) is a mid-size private university that is dedicated to the public good, located in a city of 3 million people in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains. The student experience at DU is guided by a 4-Dimensional framework including Intellectual Growth, Character Exploration, Wellness, and Professional & Career Development. DU has approximately 13,900 total students (5,700 undergraduate and 8,200 graduate students). Nearly 800 international students from over 80 countries call DU home. Total annual cost for undergraduate students is approximately $77,880 including tuition, student fees, living expenses, books and supplies, and health insurance. The university does not offer any need-based aid to international students but is proud to offer generous merit scholarships to students with strong academic profiles, which can cover up to 50% of a student’s cost of attendance.
The academic calendar operates on a quarter system, which provides students with a longer winter break and ample time to complete a major and two minors. 98.7% of classes are taught by faculty members and 94% of classes have fewer than 50 students. Additionally, life on-campus is vibrant since 94% of first year students (48% of all undergraduate students) live on-campus, participating in more than 290 student-run organizations.
Scholarships / Financial Aid
We do grant scholarships that are awarded to admitted undergraduate applicants on the basis of academic excellence, up to $28,000 and an additional $3,000 for food and housing on campus per year. For our most competitive admitted students, our scholarship awards can cover up to 50% of the tuition. All completed applications are automatically considered for these scholarships and eligible students are notified in their admission letters. The competition for these merit-based scholarships is rigorous.
