Illinois Institute of Technology is an accredited not-for-profit private, research intensive university specialized in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Science, Business, Law, Architecture & Design. It is located in the city of Chicago and is the only Tech university in the city. Some of our alumni & faculty have contributed to key inventions such as the cell phone, magnetic recording, barcode technology, tall building architecture.

The 2022 US News & World Report ranked Illinois Tech No. 42 Best Value School and the latest PayScale rankings place Illinois Tech No. 1 among Best Value private colleges ( after aid is awarded).

In 2019, Illinois Tech launched launched the B.S. in Artificial Intelligence degree which is the first of its kind in the MidWest. 80% of undergraduate students ( domestic and international) receive some partial merit scholarship and also may participate in any of our more than 150 student organizations and NCAA Division III athletics.

Illinois Tech seeks to offer students a distinctive education program via our hub ELEVATE - which offers students guaranteed experiential learning opportunities through research, internships and study abroad, whereby selected students may be awarded up to $5000 for qualifying programs.
