CaƱada College, College of San Mateo, and Skyline College are collectively called San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley. They are fully accredited and operated by the San Mateo County Community College District in the safest and most dynamic areas of Silicon Valley and San Francisco.
The colleges are known for their top rankings, great locations, and exceptional services. In 2020, they received the nation's highest honor given by the government - the JFK Presidential Award of Excellence in Export. They are No. 1 among all California community colleges and No. 2 in the nation, according to Wallethub. The colleges are also Top 10 in transfer student admission rates to UC Berkeley and Top 20 among all community colleges in America by IIE since 2017.
They are officially UC Berkeley's preferred transfer pathway colleges. San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley specialize in University Transfer Admissions (UTA) with course articulation and guaranteed transfer admission to over 140 notable public and private universities throughout the US and the globe, collectively called College University Partnership (CUP). They are known for their STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) programs and student services, including their own Silicon Valley Intensive English Program (SVIEP) and Homestay Referral Program. Also available to international students are scholarships and multiple internship opportunities (CPT, OPT) at world-class companies like Caltech, YouTube, Google, Apple, Salesforce, Twitter, and Facebook.
Scholarships / Financial Aid
Global Beca International Student Scholarship offers a limited number of one-time and renewable scholarships to primarily new F-1 students. The merit-based scholarships can range from $250 to $3,000. Applications must be submitted no later than July 1st for the Fall Semester and November 15th for the Spring Semester. Only students who have been admitted to one of the San Mateo Colleges of Silicon Valley will be considered. More information
