Welcome back to Remote learning in Term 3. With everything changing so quickily there have been a lot of things cancelled or posponed for us as learners. There has also been a lot of events cancelled or postponed for adults around the world too and a big one this year was the Olympic games. They were meant to be up an running right now. There are things we can cannot change but there are things we can control and one is what we do in this time at home. I would like you to participate in the TCPS remote Olympics.
In this exciting time of learning from home I have got a lot of fun activities to keep you on track with your learning. I also have a way for you to earn house points from home. Below you will find a lesson plan to follow and some videos to watch. You will need to follow the lesson plan and participate in the event/s. You then have the opportunity to create your own events. You can earn house points for each event you create and participate in. At the bottom of the page I have got some links for you to stay active and add to your learning. These will be optional but will help keep you moving. I hope you enjoy what is on offer and I look forward to seeing you on our Celebration Wall over the next few weeks.

This is our last week of our Remote Olympics so don't forget to post to the Celebration wall so I can see what you have all been up too.
The last event of the Olympic games is always the Marathon. This is a long distance race that finishes in the Olympic stadium on the last day of the games. This week you are going to create your own marathon. You can either run, walk, ride, scoot or skate your way around.
A traditional maraton is 42km, I would like you to try to do 4.2km or 4200 steps. You can do it around your home or out and about with your family. Show me what you come up with on the Celebration wall.
Because it is the last week we will also be having a closing ceremony and presenting the winner of the house points. Mrs Gardiner and I will post this at 3.00pm today to show you who the overall winning house is.
Next week will be Webex games sessions for different year levels. I will post log in details on the website next week for the following games times.

I will post a link next Wednesday morning on this page for you to join.
Looking forward to seeing how you create your marathon today,

In your yard or around Torquay.
Then post your event to the Celebration Wall. It is easier if you record your video and the upload it after, instead of trying to record and upload at the same time.

There are things we can cannot change but there are things we can control and one is what we do in this time at home. I would like you to participate in the TCPS remote Olympics.
This week we will be watching the opening ceremony and competing in some throwing events. You will need to choose a flag with your house color in it from below. This will then be the country you will represent. You may wish to dress in your countries colors too. You will then find some objects that you can throw. These will depend on wether you are going to throw them inside or outside your house. You will not choose anything that will break. So, socks, teddies, balls or frisbees could be good suggestions.
Then you will throw each item as far as you can and measure your furtherest throw.
You will then record your furtherest throw on the Celebration wall. You can then create your own throwing events, like I had some of your teachers do. Any additional events you create and post to the Celebration Wall will get you additional house points to go towards the TCPS remtote Olympics tally.
